Chief Designer Hsiu-Yi Chen

Hsiu-Yi was a metalcraft designer before she co-founded the brand, Kim-a-jit. She often uses the way of sinking and raising to build the subject of the work. The work depends on the need of creation and it would be built by repoussé and chasing, etching, patination, and so on to have the work show the wonderful presentation. Her inspiration usually comes from the subtle things around people or what she experienced in her daily life. Those accumulated observance and her imagination are the primary energy of the creations, which are implemented with a variety of metalworking techniques.

It’s different from what people look at the fruits and vegetables in the way of touching. She observes them from the different angles and focuses on the subtle things on them. With the metal characteristics, she developed a series of works relating to the fruits and vegetables. With her translation, her works usually bring deja vu to people and the interesting things people cannot see though at a glance. Therefore, the works arouses a person’s curiosity due to what the works present out of the box.
