This Feather is a custom design. The customer wanted to send a housewarming gift to her friend. Because her friend’s first name of “羽”, which is Chinese character and means “Feather”, the customer contacted Kim-a-jit to design a metal Feather as her friend’s gift.

In the beginning of designing, we discussed with the customer about the shape of Feather. Finally, based on her impression of her friend, we depicted the appearance of the Feather. Kim-a-jit communicated with the customer patiently about the direction and amplitude of the swing to have a great design for our customer and her friend.

For design techniques, we provided the samples using the different design techniques for the reference with the customer, so the customer could choose the appropriate design technique to present her custom design as what she wanted. Also, after deciding the dimension and the need of install, we chose the metal thickness, the metal strength, the design architecture, and so on. Besides, for the future care and maintenance, we designed a structure for easily assembly for the customer.

When creating the design, we kept letting the customer know the work status. Therefore, the customer was very satisfied with our customer service. Finally, we submitted the custom design, Feather, on time. And the customer and her friend gave Kim-a-jit a very good feedback.

This request of the custom design is from Ming-Nan Tsai, who is a ceramicist in Taiwan. He wanted to add the metal frame to the cover of the incense burner, which is his ceramic work, in order to enhance the anti-collision strength for the cover. Before designing the metal frame, we did lots of the experiment and tried the different methodologies to look for a safest solution. Finally, we finished designing the metal frame. Ceramicist Ming-Nan Tasi gave us a compliment.
